Sand Island Cruise

Sand Island Cruise was attended by the following:

Carl Taylor arrived first on Four Teaz. The others to follow: Becki & Gregg on Interlude, Jim & Cathy on Mursea, John & Sandy on Astarte, Jon & Cindy on Lazy B II, Lorraine & David on 10 Speed, new members: Jim & Linda on Oregonaut, Rich & Margaret on Talisman, Bev & Udo on the Aquarius (it'sMee starter still out of commission) and Sarah & Roger brought their 18' Trophy. Sarah & Roger trailered their boat down to St Helens City ramp and came over for fellowship and dinner.

The weather was ugly! We had our potluck dinner on Astarte. There were 24 for stand-up dining. John and Sandy are host and hostess of the hour, for sure! Sarah and Roger appeared to have some battles crossing back over to the city ramp. There were reported 35mph winds, rain and swift current.

Sunday morning was prepared by Udo and Bev up on the island. Steve from Knot Enuf got tables set under the canopy and helped take food and cooking "stuff" up to the island. Sandy from Astarte made fresh coffee. Not a big breakfast turn out, which was probably due to the weather. Gregg and Becki were having furnace problems, so Gregg spent most of the morning working on that.

We are hoping to leave Sidney and head ILLUSION north about April 15, weather dependent of course.  Since we had four inches of snow last Friday we are aware winter is still with us but we are tired of "harbournating".   If any TBYC boats are doing the Inside Passage or Vancouver Island this year tell them to let us know so we can watch for them. We plan to be south of Port Hardy by September 1 and will go to Desolation Cove and other spots.     Are you and Udo going to get some time on the water?
Here is a photo taken last Friday at a farm where I go to get organic veggies.   It is about 10 minutes from the boat.  This was at 9AM; by noon the snow was gone.  Beautiful while it lasted but we were glad it did not hang around.
